Updating maps on mapsource
Compatibility may vary, but generally runs on a Microsoft Windows 10, Windows 8 or Windows 7 desktop and laptop PC.Garmin Map Source has been tested for viruses, please refer to the tests on the "Virus Tests" page. - uninstalled mapinstall- installed basecamp 4.6.2, mapinstall was not installed- installed mapinstalled 4.0.4- mapinstall would not start with an error about a missing language dll- sfc /scannow did not fix- uninstalled mapinstall, uninstalled basecamp, reboot- installed mapinstall 4.0.4- installed basecamp 4.6.2- all working again fine.. I also think Map Install might be the culprit, since I first tried to install the latest version (4.2.0, IIRC), and that one is also broken. The country sets already have an unique name and ID but the custom maps always have the same one. Then I downgraded Basecamp to 4.6.2 and still maps were not properly installed. I had to uninstall Map Install for map installation to work again. I uninstalled Base Camp 4.7.0 and re-installed 4.6.2, but the problem persists. When I scan for updates in Basecamp it says "No updates available for program"Still... Uninstalling won't affect your data, at least for the Windows version, I assume it is the same for the Mac but I'm not sure. And I backed up my old Garmin Basecamp so managed to retrieve all my track and route data with no risk. It's interesting that, if you install a map with the broken version, and then you check what's installed with Map Install, it seems to show one tile from the whole map. I assumed that when I un/re-installed Base Camp, it would automatically un/reinstall Map Install, but perhaps not from what fencekicker says. It's not listed in Windows 7 as an un-installable program.(BTW, I took some screenshots to illustrate the problem but can't find any way of attaching them.)Thanks for any help! When I scan for updates in Basecamp it says "No updates available for program"Still... The version you have is already many, many versions behind, so I doubt you need an even older version. the problem of not showing installed OSM maps may not be Basecamp related but Garmin Map Install or Garmin Map Manager related? Do not attempt to download maps to a GPS that has a Garmin SD card that came preloaded with maps.
Our trail maps are transparent, so they can be displayed simultaneously with other maps on your GPS.For example, if you use Garmin TOPO 2008 topographic maps you can load both the topographic maps and our trail maps onto your GPS.The data from both maps are visible at the same time on your GPS map display and they work quite nicely together.Your GPS will be able to route you along snowmobile trails using this map.
Also, use of the routing tool in Map Source will create and display routes along snowmobile trails just as a routing automobile map will route you along highways and roads. Will these be retained when I uninstall Basecamp 4.7.0? I have the same problem with not showing installed OSM maps in latest Basecamp 4.2.4 in mac OS. I have the same problem with not showing installed OSM maps in latest Basecamp 4.2.4 in mac OS.
